On Saturday, January 26th, the Village of Glen Ellyn, together with MUSE Community + Design and Civiltech Engineering, held a Design Workshop at Fire Station 1. Timed to coincide with the annual Indoor Sidewalk Sale, the event sought input from residents and business owners on a number of topics pertinent to the Village’s CBD Streetscape & Utility Improvements project.
Despite cold and snow on the ground, 100+ residents, business owners, teens, and youth filtered through the space that day. The event, Advertised online and via social media, the Workshop was well attended by Glen Ellyners of all ages, business owners, and others. Despite colder-than-usual temperatures that weekend, we handed out ~90 comment cards to attendees who provided rich commentary and insight about their preferences for future Streetscape & Utility improvements for Downtown Glen Ellyn.
After signing in, attendees had access to six stations, each with varying degrees of interactivity, and with activities for all ages, plus informational kiosks and displays that educated or sought input from attendees. Have something to add? Get involved and share your ideas today!
